Alabama Bat Working Group Bat Blitz

Join the Alabama Bat Working Group for their 2024 Bat Blitz!

Registration is open for the Alabama Bat Working Group Bat Blitz scheduled for May 7-10 in Scottsboro, Alabama. Netting will occur on the nights of May 7 - 9th. Team leaders and experienced, rabies-vaccinated bat handlers are needed. We also welcome volunteers to assist with net set-up and data collection if you are not vaccinated and/or are inexperienced.

Registration is a required two-step process.

Accommodations

A block of rooms is reserved under Alabama Work Group block at the Comfort Inn in Scottsboro.  Reserve with your credit card before May 4. Please do not register under the credit card on file!

For students, on a first come, first served basis, there is free shared housing for seven people at a nearby house owned by The Nature Conservancy. The house has basic amenities. There is also room for camping for a handful of students at this property. Indicate you need free housing on the registration form and you will be notified if housing is still available.
