START A NEW PROJECT IN NABAT

Log into your NABat account. If you do not have an NABat account, follow the directions below 
to create one.

Create an NABat Account​

​

Once logged in, navigate to the MyNABat tab, and select the "Add New Project" button in the upper right corner (Figure 1). This will open the Project Wizard page. â€‹

Use the following information to fill out the new project form.

  • Owning Organization: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

​​

  • Project Name: FBB_[YYYY]_[CNTY]_[Company]_[Name-of-Project]_[IPaC# - exclude if not assigned or known]

​​

  • Description: [Full company name] conducted a [survey type] survey for the Florida bonneted bat on behalf of [entity name] under [permit/contract identification]. [Describe project area and location (include acreage, mileage for linear projects, city, county, etc.)]. The survey entailed [brief description of survey]. This survey was [positive/negative] for Florida bonneted bat presence.

  • Study Area (Sample Frame): Continental US 10x10km Grid

​​

  • Primary Intent of Data Collection: â€‹Clearance Surveying (enter IPaC # if assigned or known)

​​

  • Project Start and End Date: Fill in the dates pertaining to your project.

​​

​​

  • Third-Party Data Request Approval Settings: â€‹

    • Do Not Auto Approve third-party data requests. For specific data use and sharing settings, refer to Figure 2. Ensure that the selections for automatically sharing survey data with NatureServe and BatAmp remain unchecked.​​​​​

Once all new project details are reviewed, click "Create Project". 

 

As indicated by NABat guidance, cell selection is not required. Select the "Back to Project" button and return to your new project's home page.
