The FORT Science Center is hiring for a permanent position Computer Scientist.
This position is located in Fort Collins, CO, and will involve supporting continental scale wildlife monitoring programs (including The North American Bat Monitoring Program and the National Biosurveillance Early Detection Rapid Response Information System).
Some of the specific duties of the Computer Scientist include:
Designing and developing complex software systems for a predominantly Java-based open-source web environment;
Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work activities for multiple, simultaneous software development projects;
Ensuring software projects meet department and agency security and sustainability requirements;
Researching computer science topics including service-oriented information architectures, opensource software trends, artificial intelligence, and machine learning;
Serve as Point of Contact for communications on the highly technical aspects of software product development;
Operating a government-owned or -leased vehicle in the performance of your official duties.
