Stationary Acoustic Working Group

The Stationary Acoustic Working Group has several ranked priorities:

  1. Providing guidance for choosing appropriate auto-classifiers (range maps, buffers, etc.)

  2. Providing guidance on how to process large volumes of data

  3. Compiling regional lists of species which have overlapping acoustic characters

  4. Ranking habitat features by species

  5. Providing guidance on the process of manual vetting

  6. Estimating the full cost of stationary acoustic monitoring

  7. Studying detection probabilities with clutter

  8. Creating a pros and cons document for full-spectrum vs zero-cross data collection

  9. Establishing methods for keeping detectors safe and secure from humans/animals/weather

  10. Making recommendations for working with private landowners
